I came across this blog over at Town Hall: Conservative Resistance Movement. This blog is run by a retired Marine that calls himself "GunnyG". I know this because he's constantly reminding us of the 21 years he spent in the USMC. It makes a mockery of the USMC, as this guy plays down to the stereotype which has led to Marines' being known as "jarheads".

This looks all too much like a trendy-leftie mole who's trying way too hard, and I probably wouldn't be writing about it, but it does exemplify what is wrong with the movement. There is a certain visceral delight in reading rants like these, just as there is from throwing baseballs at crockery at the county fair. In the end, however, it does nothing constructive.

I kid you not. If you needed any further proof that that "conservative" icon, Saint Ronald of Reagan was nothing of the kind, then here it is. Why would the former community organizer, friend of extreme leftists, and the senator with the most liberal voting record be doing this? We expect the usual assortment of "conservative" pundits and politicians to be digging up the mouldering carcass to fellate the withered old cock, but for Barack Obama to be getting in line? It's not simply a case of being gracious either.

This past week has brought us the Michael Steele vs. Rush Limbaugh drama. Our Democratic friends across the aisle are enjoying every minute of it, as well they should.

For a couple of weeks, it looked like the RNC was determined to do the right thing. The new head of the RNC, Michael Steele, had been a FOX commentator who made all the right noises. Now we know better: the neo-"cons" have solidified their hold over the GOP, just like I said they would.

The GOP has been laid low, thanks to politicians who swapped their principles for power and lost both. As the chief electoral vehicle for conservative and free-market ideas, the Republican party cannot regain America's confidence --nor should it -- until the guilty have been cast into the nearest volcano.
